In Nepal it is ah essence to have right seasonal Clothing & Equipments for the safe and enjoyable expedition. So we have prepared a list of required equipments for a trip to the great Himalayas.

Important documents and items

  • Valid passport
  • 2 extra passport size photos
  • airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport
  • Visa form
  • Proof of insurance
  • ATM cards, Credit card, traveler's checks, Visa card, Master card, etc. for withdrawing cash if required.
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros for exchanging into Nepali currency
Head
  • Sunglasses with UV protection
  • Light balaclava or warm fleece hat
  • Sun hat or scarf
  • A head scarf
  • Warm hat that covers ear
  • Headlamp with extra batteries and bulbs
Hands
  • Heavyweight gloves
  • One pair of mittens with a waterproof shell outer
  • Lightweight gloves
Upper Body
  • T-shirts (2)
  • Fleece jacket or pullover
  • Light and expedition weight thermal tops
  • Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional)
  • Waterproof shell jacket
  • Down Jacket or shell jacket
  • Down Vest
  • Gore-Tex jacket with hood, water proof and breathable
 Lower Body
  • Lightweight cotton long pants
  • Lightweight thermal bottoms meant for travel
  • Undergarments (4)
  • Hiking shorts (2) and Hiking Trousers (2)
  • Woolen Pants (2)
  • Waterproof shell pants

Feet

  • Gaiters for hiking to the base camp during winter.
  • Hiking shoes and Camping shoes (snearkers/sandals)
  • Thin lightweight inner socks (3 pairs)
  • Thick warm wool hiking socks (3 pairs)
Accessories
  • Small wash towel
  • Water bottles (2)
  • Headlamp with spare bulbs and batteries 
  • Small pad or combination lock-to-lock for trek bag
  • Daypack (approximately 2500 to 3000 cubic inches)
For Sleeping
  • Sleeping bag rated to zero degrees F
  • Sleeping pad and air matrices(only in camping trek)
  • A pillow case(in case there are limited pillow in the guest house you can make a pillow of your own material)
  • Sleeping bag liner(if required)
Travel bags
  • Daypack (approximately 2500 to 3000 cubic inches) 
  • A large duffel bag for clothes
  • A medium backpack or suitcase for airplane carry on

Note : Try not to carry too many bags. 

First aid materials
  • A box having basic First Aid Kit
  • First aid tapes
  • Aspirin
  • Bandages
  • Anti-diarrhea pills
Hygienic materials
  • 2 water bottles (1 liter each)
  • Deodorants
  • Face and body moisturizer creams
  • Nail clippers
  • Female hygiene products like menstrual napkin
  • Toiletries (Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shaving cream, etc.)
  • Small and quick drying wash towel

  • Beauty products if you prefer
  • Wet wipes (baby wipes)
